Identification of safety hazards is essential to defining controls to minimize the
chance of injury.
ELECTRICAL SAFETY
Employees shall use Ground Fault Circuit Interrupters (GFCIs) on all portable tools.
Check PPE is not broken or damaged before use. Verify electrical test equipment is
operating properly. Use GFCI with all handheld power tools. Perform maintenance on
LIVE equipment with Permit to Workand LOTO.
FALL PROTECTION
Employees shall use fall protection when exposedto a fall hazard as long as working
at an elevatedlevel of 6 feet’s or 2 meters above. Always ensure
sufficient lightings while working on heights.
MACHINE GUARDING
While operating machine or equipment’s employees shall not tamper or disable
guarding under normal conditions.
CONFINED SPACE
Any entry for confined space should be done with full site assessment, identified the
risk, use oxygen level meters and established the procedures.
LIFTING OPERATIONS
When utilizing cranes, hoists or other mechanical lifting devices.Verify that a safe work
zone is established and maintained. Follow approved lifting methods. Obtain a valid
permit before starting a lifting operation, if required check that rigging and safety
devices are inspected and operational.
COMPRESSED GAS
When working with gaseous suppression and compressed gases cylinders,always treat
cylinders as fully pressurized. Use mechanical aids and follow safe handling procedures
when moving cylinders. Do not leave cylinders unsecured or unrestrained.
